| so is this Ummah guy working with anybody now? I've absolutely loved like 95% of all the Tribe beats... hard to imagine that guy doesn't get more recognition in the industry.... |

Most of Tribe's beats were produced by Ali Shaheed Muhammed, specifically their older stuff with a jazzier feel - People's Instinctive Travels, Low End Theory, Midnight Marauders. Ummah = Q-Tip + Jay Dee, who produced Beats Rhymes and Life. _________________

i like whoever did most of phife's tracks...ATCQ's tracks were nice too but take away just a little jazz from that track and you got my favourite mix.
plus, whoever used to do Funkdoobiest's tracks was good too...that was Muggs right? coz it sounds a lot like most of cypress hill's music.
anybody who can blend a mean drum with some jazz/funk, rules! _________________ root@koobi:~ # I recommend all my clients to <b><a href='http://www.mbshost.com/' target='_blank'>MBSHost</a></b><br>root@koobi:~ # My <b><a href='http://www.koobi-studio.com/downloads/php/' target='_blank'>PHP</a></b> stuff |

i love hip hop beats with jazzy loops... i guess that's why i enjoy Pete Rock and Tribe's beats so much... Jay Dee, same thing....
i'm looking to purchase the Foreign Exchange album, which i first heard here on Smoothbeats... don't remember the name of the producer, but damn those beats are GOOD |

i love foreign exchange and tribe as well.
isn't the producer of foreign exchange an european guy? he's got this touch of soul in his tracks. they mention him in "be allright" but they just say that he's from "overseas".
his european origin is probably what makes me think of ambience when i hear their tracks _________________ root@koobi:~ # I recommend all my clients to <b><a href='http://www.mbshost.com/' target='_blank'>MBSHost</a></b><br>root@koobi:~ # My <b><a href='http://www.koobi-studio.com/downloads/php/' target='_blank'>PHP</a></b> stuff |

Prince Paul for sure... De La Soul's first two albums are still staples of any crate of records I bring to a gig. Sadly, there was more truth than most realize to the title "De La Soul is Dead,", as that was probably their last decent album. _________________
